Abstract
Toxicokinetic characteristics of naringin and its metabolite naringenin were investigated in beagle dogs after oral administration of naringin at the doses of 20, 100, or 500 mg/kg/day in a repeated-dose study for 1, 30, 90, and 180 days. Plasma concentrations of naringin and naringenin were determined by a rapid resolution liquid chromatography/electrospray ionization/tandem mass spectrometric method. The results showed that no differences in systemic exposure were observed between male and female beagle dogs. Systematic exposure exhibited dose-dependent increase for both naringin and naringenin. No significant accumulations were observed. Results would be taken into consideration for the interpretation of toxicology findings and provide a reference for clinical safety assessment.Entities:
