Abstract
A growing number of children with severe-to-profound hearing loss are receiving cochlear implants. This article provides information about the various educational and rehabilitation options for these children, emphasizing the need for a collaborative approach to rehabilitation planning and implementation. Decisions about such options should be individualized and are informed by several factors including age at implantation and family expectations and desires. A review of legislation affecting the education of children with hearing loss is also provided.Entities:
