Abstract
Control of Johne’s disease in dairy herds involves 3 basic steps: prevent exposure of calves to Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (MAP), identify and eliminate MAP-infected cows from the herd, and prevent entry of MAP-infected animals into the herd. Tailoring JD control programs to each specific dairy requires education of the producer and a full understanding of his/her goals, objectives, and resources.Entities:
