Seasonal fluctuation of BMR in populations not exposed to limitations in food availability: reality or illusion?

H Kashiwazaki1.

Abstract

Re-analysis of literature data has revealed that BMR seasonal fluctuations largely depend on indoor and outdoor temperatures at the time of determination. BMR seasonal differences persist even after controlling for indoor temperatures, suggesting the existence of other factors controlling modifications of BMR in the normal population throughout the year.
