Sir,I read with great interest the recent publication on spectrum of surgical trauma and associated head injuries at a university hospital in eastern Nepal by Bajracharya et al.[1] They concluded that “In Nepal, trauma-related injury contributes significantly to morbidity and mortality and is the third leading cause of death.”[1] I have some comments on this work. First, this is a single instate report that might not be a good representative of the overall situation in Nepal. The conclusion on Nepalese view might be exaggerated. Second, the authors had mentioned several laboratory investigations but they did not report all those tested (such as CBC, blood chemistry, etc.). Third the reliability of the study is limited due to its retrospective nature (lack for control of data source and validation, lack for control of recording system, etc.).
