Has open vascular surgery disappeared?

W Kirt Nichols1, Wei Wei.

Abstract

In the era of evolutionary endovascular techniques, the evidence from most recent prospective randomized clinic trials supports the fact that both open and endovascular surgery are playing an important role in modern vascular patient care. The clinical data analysis from the University of Missouri further proves the fact that vascular surgeons are empowered by endovascular techniques to better serve the vascular patient in combination with traditional open techniques.
