Figure 1Serum apoM levels in mice treated with simvastatin for 6 weeks. ApoM concentrations were determined by dot-blotting analyses as described in the materials and methods. Data are expressed as the intensity*mm2 that was analyzed by the software of Quantity One. Data are means ± SEM.
Figure 2Serum apoM levels in mice at different time intervals. ApoM concentrations were determined by dot-blotting analyses as described in the materials and methods. Data are expressed as the intensity*mm2 that was analyzed by the software of Quantity One. Data are means ± SEM. *P < 0.05 vs. 20-week normal control, **P < 0.01 vs. 12-week normal control.
Figure 3Effects of simvastatin on apoM mRNA levels in HepG2 cells. HepG2 cells were cultured with different concentrations of simvastatin for 24 hrs (upper panel) or cells were cultured with 30 μM simvastatin up to 48 hrs (lower panel). ApoM mRNA levels were determined by real-time RT-PCR. Each experimental group contains six replicates and real-time RT-PCR was run in triplicates. The control group is represented as 100%. Data are means ± SEM. **P < 0.01 vs. control.
