Summary of clinical data
Values are presented as mean ± SD.
Fig. 1After 12 weeks of home-based pencil push-ups (HBPP) therapy, the mean angle of exodeviation decreased from 3 prism diopters (PD) to orthophoria at distance and from 12 PD to 4 PD at near.
Fig. 2The mean value of near point of convergence (NPC) decreased from 36.6 cm to 14.4 cm after 12 weeks of home-based pencil push-ups (HBPP) therapy.
Outcome measures after 12 weeks of home-based pencil push-ups (HBPP) therapy
*Successful outcome: achievement of both normal near point of convergence (NPC) (<6 cm) and normal positive fusional vergence (PFV) (>15 PD); †Improved outcome: at least one of the followings, 1) a normal NPC, 2) an improvement of greater than 4 cm in NPC, 3) a normal PFV, 4) an increase of greater than 10 PD in PFV; ‡Non-responders: patients who did not meet the above criteria.
