Bichromophoric rhodamine-iridium(III) sensory system: modulation of the energy-transfer process through a selective sensing behavior.

Abstract

A newly designed bichromophoric rhodamine-iridium(III) system was found to show color/electronic absorption spectral changes and modulation of the energy-transfer process from rhodamine 6G to the iridium(III) luminophore upon selective Hg(II) ion binding.
