Abstract
The proliferation in genetic association studies, and the recurring failure of initially promising findings to robustly replicate, demonstrates the need for stringent standards to ensure the identification of credible associations. The Human Genome Epidemiology Network has recently published intermin guideliness on evidential criteria for genetic association studies. These are reviewed, and their value and importance discussed, as well as the impact these guidelines will have on the conduct of genetic association studies.Entities:
