ATM signals miRNA biogenesis through KSRP.

Ying Liu1, Qinghua Liu.

Abstract

In this issue of Molecular Cell, Zhang and colleagues (Zhang et al., 2011) describe a critical link between the DNA damage response and the miRNA pathway, in which DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs) induce ATM-dependent KSRP phosphorylation to facilitate pri-miRNA processing.
