Abstract
The thermodilution technique has been shown to measure cardiac output accurately. The technique violates ideal conditions for indicator dilution methods and is liable to gross errors unless certain requirements are strictly adhered to. The quantity of injectate must be accurately measured and injected rapidly. The dilution curve must be available for inspection and show a smooth rapid ascent and monoexponential decline.Mesh:
