Abstract
Extragonadal yolk sac tumor (YST) is a relatively rare entity. We describe here the case of an extragonadal YST that occurred in the pancreas with hepatic metastasis in an adult woman. The contrast enhanced CT images of the abdomen revealed a heterogeneous, solitary mass occupying the pancreatic neck and body with slightly inhomogeneous contrast enhancement. Two low-density lesions in the liver were also displayed on the CT images. The patient underwent surgery and the diagnosis of YST was pathologically verified.Entities:

Fig. 1Primary yolk sac tumor in 57-year-old woman.
A. Pre-contrast CT scan reveals circumscribed, oval, solitary and hypodense mass in pancreas (arrow).
B-D. Arterial-phase CT (B) shows slightly heterogeneous enhancement of neoplasm, which displays progressive enhancement with central low-density area during portal-venous phase (C) and equilibrium phase (D).
E. On plain CT image, two hypodense masses are detected in III, IV and VII hepatic segments, with central hemorrhage within left mass (arrow).
F. Masses display minimal diffuse heterogeneous enhancement on portal-venous phase image.
