Abstract
BACKGROUND: Publichealth care providers, stakeholders and policy makers request a rapid insight into health status and needs of the affected population after disasters. To our knowledge, there is no standardized rapid assessment tool for European countries. The aim of this article is to describe existing tools used internationally and analyze them for the development of a workable rapid assessment.Entities:

** 33 studies were included, four studies [14,15,28,29] used both types of method (questionnaire & registry) and were therefore included twice in the review separately for both assessments. In one [29] of these four studies even third assessments that each had a different time-frame were described. The total number of assessments was 38.
