Abstract
Storage-phosphor digital radiographic systems are becoming widely used in a variety of diagnostic procedures. The equipment is reliable and produces images of consistently high quality. However, the images may contain artifacts directly related to the digital techniques used, to the phosphor imaging plate, or to radiography in general. This article illustrates many of the artifacts encountered that are specific to computed radiography, some of which can simulate pathologic lesions. Their causes and remedies are discussed briefly.Mesh:
