Abstract
In a study of 50 referrals, family physicians were shown to choose consultants whom they trusted. They had previously worked with them or had indirect evidence, including patient reports, of their technical and communication skills and effectiveness with patients. By trial and error, "good" ones were retained and "bad" ones - including those not trusted by patients - were avoided.Entities:
