Nucleosome positioning: an essential component of the enhancer regulatory code?

Abstract

The organization of transcription factor binding sites within enhancers plays a key role in the function of these elements. A recent study suggests that the intrinsic propensity to bind to nucleosomes can also play a decisive part in determining enhancer function. (c) 2010 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
