Abstract
Total anomalous pulmonary venous connection (TAPVC) is a rare congenital cardiac anomaly. Death usually occurs in the first 3 months of life in about 50% of neonates with this disease, and no more than 20% of patients survive to the age of 1 year. The patient with the longest recorded survival is 49 years old. Here, we report successful surgical treatment of this disease in a 56-year-old female patient. This patient was discharged in good health about 1 month after operation, with no evidence of recurrence of heart failure at 13 months' follow-up. Georg Thieme Verlag KG Stuttgart New York.Entities:
