Abstract
A population of Culex pipiens pipiens form molestus was detected in a drainage sump in Calumet Water Reclamation Plant on the South Side of Chicago, IL. This is the first documented collection of a molestus population within the city of Chicago and the second collection of a molestus population in the Chicago metropolitan area in >60 years. Field-collected specimens were used to initiate a colony without bloodfeeding, and the colony is autogenous and stenogamous.Entities:
