BACKGROUND: Gene set analysis is considered to be a way of improving our biological interpretation of the observed expression patterns. This paper describes different methods applied to analyse expression data from a chicken DNA microarray dataset.Entities:

For Wilcoxon and Globaltest with the two p-value estimation methods the numbers of terms with p-value below 0.05 are given. The number of terms with p-values below 0.05 for each method and overlapping between Wilcoxon and Globaltest are shown as well. For Globaltest with Asymptotic p-value calculation the top 15 terms overlapping with the top 15 for Wilcoxon are shown.
