Abstract
BACKGROUND: Respiratory symptoms, either newly reported after the World Trade Center (WTC) disaster on 11 September 2001 (9/11) or increased in severity, have been well documented in WTC-exposed workers and New York City residents. However, considerable uncertainty exists over the persistence of symptoms.Entities:

p-Values all < 0.01, by McNemar’s test for trend between symptom prevalence and arrival group.
Individuals in each year may not be the same.
Calculated as (year 4 – year 1)/(year 1) × 100.
p-Values from marginal logistic regression model fitted with generalized estimating equations, with an exchangeable within-individual correlation.
