Abstract
Since their introduction in 1990, modern stentless aortic prostheses have by now obtained wide acceptance in the treatment of aortic valve disease. Despite the favourable results of using different techniques, concerns still remain about the durability of this device, especially regarding mineralisation. We present the first report, to our knowledge, of an early and unexpected malfunction of a large Sorin Solo stentless valve due to calcification only 18 months after implantation.Entities:
