Abstract
OBJECTIVES: To estimate the frequency of work disability (WD) in a cohort of patients with Systemic Sclerosis (SSc) vs an internal control group of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) with a known high frequency of WD; and to investigate the association between WD and other factors including Health Assessment Questionnaire Disability Index (HAQ-DI) scores, HAQ pain, age, sex, disease duration and education level.Entities:

P-values provided for dichotomous data were obtained using Fisher’s exact chi-squared tests. Proportions are provided for dichotomous data, and the ± SEM is provided for continuous measurements. Odds ratio (OR) are provided for SSc relative to RA.Continuous data were tested using independent t-tests assuming unequal variances.
Datawere missing for 7 RA, 2 dcSSc, and 2 lcSSc subjects;
Data were missing for 10 RA, 2 dcSSc, and 4 lcSSc subjects.
