Multiplex PCR assay for detection and simultaneous differentiation of genotypes of Vibrio vulnificus biotype 1.

Abstract

A multiplex PCR assay was developed that provides a rapid method of species identification with simultaneous genotype differentiation of Vibrio vulnificus biotype 1. This technique has been employed for the confirmation and typing of unknown isolates from both clinical and environmental sources utilizing a single reaction followed by gel electrophoresis.
