Abstract
A new bacterial strain producing succinic acid was enriched from bovine rumen content. It is facultatively anaerobic, belongs to the family Pasteurellaceae and has similarity to the genus Mannheimia. In batch cultivations with D-glucose or sucrose the strain produced up to 5.8 g succinic acid l(-1) with a productivity and a yield of up to 1.5 g l(-1) h(-1) and 0.6 g g(-1), respectively. With crude glycerol up to 8.4 g l(-1), 0.9 g l(-1) h(-1) and 1.2 g g(-1) were obtained.Entities:
