Vascular plug for ICA occlusion in cavernous carotid aneurysms: technical note.

Abstract

INTRODUCTION: Large, symptomatic aneurysms of the cavernous internal carotid artery (ICA) can be successfully treated by a combination of aneurysm coiling and occlusion of the parent vessel. CASE
PRESENTATION: We describe the use of an Amplatzer (AGA medical corporation, Plymouth, MA, USA) detachable nitinol vascular plug to occlude the ICA in four patients with symptomatic cavernous ICA aneurysms.
