Abstract
Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) replicates in differentiated but not undifferentiated NTERA-2 human embryonal carcinoma cells; neither cell type expresses CD4. Susceptibility of the differentiated cells is enhanced by coinfection with cytomegalovirus. HIV infection induces lactoseries glycolipids, suggesting a mechanism whereby HIV might interfere with normal embryogenesis.Entities:
