Abstract
Several resins have reportedly been used to synthesize hydroxamic acids except for the hydroxythiophenol (Marshall) resin. Herein we report the use of the Marshall resin to synthesize hydroxamic acids from carboxylic acids and its application to convert a library of fourteen discrete aliphatic and aromatic carboxylic acids including N-protected amino acids to their corresponding hydroxamic acids in good yields.Entities:
