Abstract
Allostery is a central concept for understanding protein function and regulation. It is less well appreciated that DNA is allosteric, too, and that DNA conformational changes can by coupled to protein binding interactions on the DNA lattice. Allosteric DNA interactions are emerging as important features in the assembly of the molecular machines that regulate transcription.Mesh:
