Wei Chen1.

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To observe the clinical therapeutic effect of acupuncture plus intensive pulse light irradiation on chloasma.
METHODS: Ninety-six cases of chloasma were randomly divided into two groups, the control group of 46 cases treated by simple acupuncture and the treatment group of 50 cases treated by acupuncture and intensive pulse light irradiation.
RESULTS: The total effective rate was 89.1% and 98.0% in the control group and treatment group respectively, with a significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05).
CONCLUSION: For chloasma, the effect of treatment with acupuncture plus intensive pulse light irradiation is superior to that with simple acupuncture.
