Abstract
This article reviews the recent literature concerning the role of visual information in the control of locomotion with an emphasis on the neurophysiological mechanisms that underlie visually triggered, voluntary, gait modifications. Data are presented to show how these gait modifications may be encoded by the motor cortex, and how they may interact with the basic locomotor rhythm.Entities:
