Abstract
Semi-quantitative stool cultures on CCFA were compared to cytotoxic assays for the diagnosis of Clostridium difficile associated disease (CAD). There was a significant correlation between the amount of Clostridium difficile growth on CCFA, the presence of cytotoxin and a clinical diagnosis of CAD in the 541 initial stool specimens tested.Entities:
