The aesthetic dentofacial analysis.

David Sarver1, Ronald S Jacobson.

Abstract

Surgical-orthodontic treatment planning for facial skeletal surgery begins with analysis of the morphologic form of the face, the soft-tissue envelope, and the underlying facial skeleton integrated with the dentition. This article demonstrates how systematic analysis of all the facial components, both anatomically static and functionally dynamic, leads to a greater appreciation of the subtleties of the interaction of each of the facial elements and how each can be managed appropriately through a unified orthodontic-surgical approach.
