Relative sensitivity of myeloid and lymphatic stem cells to mutational and cell killing effects of ionizing radiation.

A Stewart1.

Abstract

Following exposure to a high dose of ionizing radiation there is a much greater risk of developing myeloid than lymphatic leukaemia. Reasons are given why this difference probably owes more to cell killing than mutational effects of the radiation.
