Abstract
A randomized trial was completed to assess the feasibility of a 2-year education rehabilitation program for students with sickle cell disease and memory deficits. Eleven students were assigned to tutoring with or without memory training for 2 years. Eighty-two percent completed the program. Evidence of improvement in memory and academic achievement existed. Educational rehabilitation is a feasible strategy, but further investigation is needed to assess the benefit in a multi center trial.Entities:
