Abstract
Five horses with fatal clostridial cellulitis are described. The characteristic findings were the rapid development of a crepitant swelling with an associated toxemia, which in four cases followed intramuscular injections. The clinical features, diagnostic techniques and pathogenesis are discussed. The importance of an early diagnosis is emphasized.Entities:
