Abstract
Real-time PCR assays for Plasmodium species utilizing universal and species-specific primers were compared to investigate variables influencing decreased assay sensitivity. Sequence variation in oligomer targets and competitive inhibition of dual-species templates in universal-primer mixes were found to decrease assay sensitivity.Entities:
