Abstract
Histamine release occurs during paediatric cardiopulmonary bypass at the time of removal of the aortic cross-clamp. Left atrial histamine levels are significantly (p less than 0.02) higher than right atrial levels at the time of reventilation of the lungs. These results suggest that histamine is released from the pulmonary vasculature following reperfusion.Entities:
