Abstract
While a role for DNA glycosylase activity in base excision repair (BER) is well understood, there is mounting evidence to implicate cooperation of DNA glycosylases with components of repair pathways other than BER. The mechanisms by which DNA glycosylases interact with non-BER pathways are, in many cases, poorly understood. However, accumulating evidence indicates that crosstalk is common and may be as important in signaling repair as the canonical pathways themselves.Mesh:
