Dual energy subtraction digital radiography: technical considerations, clinical applications, and imaging pitfalls.

Robert C Gilkeson1, Peter B Sachs.

Abstract

Emerging applications in digital radiography offer exciting advances in the evaluation of lung disease. Dual energy subtraction techniques have been recognized as a promising technique in the detection and characterization of pulmonary nodules. This essay will demonstrate a significantly expanded diagnostic role in the assessment of cardiothoracic disease with dual energy subtraction and digital radiography.
