INTRODUCTION: All students (N = 2053) in Anadarko public schools, grades kindergarten through 12, were invited to be screened for height, weight, and blood pressure to assess the health status of this multiracial, multiethnic (American Indian, white, African American, and Hispanic) population in southwestern Oklahoma.Entities:

Weight status was categorized as follows: underweight (body mass index [BMI] <5th percentile for age and sex), normal weight (BMI ≥5th percentile but <85th percentile for age and sex), at risk of overweight (BMI ≥85th percentile but <95th percentile for age and sex), and overweight (BMI ≥95th percentile for age and sex).
Data for one Asian student was excluded from the analysis.
