Abstract
The antimicrobial activity of the human RNase A superfamily member RNase 8 was evaluated. Recombinant RNase 8 exhibited broad-spectrum microbicidal activity against potential pathogenic microorganisms (including multidrug-resistant strains) at micro- to nanomolar concentrations. Thus, RNase 8 was identified as a novel antimicrobial protein and may contribute to host defense.Entities:
