Abstract
The identification of molecules from various pathogens that modulate innate and/or adaptive immunity is a dynamic and rapidly developing area of research. These immunomodulatory molecules (IM) have been optimized during pathogen-host co-evolution, and have a potential application as novel immunotherapeutics. In this review, we illustrate the use of pathogen IM that have been produced as recombinant proteins, with different modes of modulatory activity, and discuss their potential to modulate undesirable immune responses in human diseases.Entities:
