Abstract
Striae are seen in numerous clinical conditions, including pregnancy, and may be resultant from progressive, continuous skin stretching. Regardless of etiology, they appear as raised pink/purple lesions, which mature leaving depressed silver 'scars'. In this issue, Salter et al. explore the possibility that occurrence of striae may predict pelvic relaxation (prolapse of the pelvic organs) in later life.Mesh:
