Abstract
A simple and efficient synthesis of 1,4-bis(furo[2,3-d]pyrimidine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione-5-yl)benzene derivatives was achieved via a one-pot three-component reaction of isocyanides, N,N'-dimethylbarbituric acid, and terephthaldialdehyde in DMF at room temperature for 30 min. These improved reaction conditions allow the preparation of highly substituted furopyrimidinones in high yields and purity under mild reaction conditions.Entities:
