Abstract
A case is described of a life threatening vasculitis of the small bowel leading to massive gastrointestinal haemorrhage which was apparently due to cytomegalovirus inclusion disease. Reactivation of cytomegalovirus probably followed the treatment of Wegener's granulomatosis with corticosteroids and azathioprine. This patient was treated successfully by surgical excision of the affected segment of ileum together with intravenous ganciclovir.Entities:
