Abstract
Systemic lupus erythematosus is an autoimmune disease that causes inflammation in the tissues of the brain, endothelial cells, gastrointestinal/genitourinary (GI/GU), joints, kidneys, muscles, and skin. Lupus comprises a range of multisystem disorders involving the deposition of aberrant immune complexes into tissues. Inflammation occurs as a result of autoantibodies attacking organ systems. The pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus is presented.Entities:
