Abstract
BACKGROUND: The aim of the study was to examine the relationship between psychosocial and other working conditions and body-mass index (BMI) in a working population. This study contributes to the approximately dozen investigations of job stress, which have demonstrated mixed positive and negative results in relation to obesity, overweight and BMI.Entities:

*Analysis of variance.
** The original sample consisted of 526 men and 575 women. BMI information was missing for 7 men so this table shows data only for (526-7) = 519 men. BMI information was missing for 43 women and one women with BMI >60 was dropped from the analysis so this table shows data only for (574-43-1) = 531 women.
