Abstract
Recent studies suggest that the human immunodeficiency virus transactivator, Tat, increases expression of viral genes primarily by enhancing the efficiency of transcriptional elongation. The degree to which Tat influences elongation may depend on the rate of transcriptional initiation. Current models in which Tat interacts with the transcription complex suggest directions for future studies.Entities:
