Abstract
Diabetes mellitus is a growing health concern in our society. In addition to the well-known cardiovascular, renal, and ophthalmologic complications of diabetes, liver-related complications occur commonly and are often underrecognized. The ensuing article will review the relationship between diabetes mellitus and two common liver diseases: chronic hepatitis C and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. The association with diabetes and cirrhosis, acute liver failure, hepatocellular carcinoma, and outcomes following orthotopic liver transplantation will also be discussed.Entities:
